Calu was born 1999 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her actual name is Catalina, but when she was 15 she came up with CALU (CA from Catalina and LU from Lusquiños, her last name) as an artistic name for her instagram "work" profile because she didn't want her classmates to make fun of her, in that way they never found out she was publishing anything.
In 2017 she went on and study advertising at UCA and it was during that time she realized she wanted to be a full time photographer.
Nowadays she is a photographer and filmmaker with a degree in communication and advertising, based in Buenos Aires but traveling around the world capturing the people and places she admires most. For Calu, each year is different, it is crucial to have fun in each project and she seeks to collaborate with great artists in order to bring out the best in the person she's capturing.
Calu nació en 1999 en Buenos Aires, Argentina. Su nombre real es Catalina, pero cuando tenía 15 se le ocurrió CALU (CA de Catalina y LU de Lusquiños, su apellido) como nombre artístico para su perfil de "trabajo" de Instagram porque no quería que sus compañeros del colegio lo vieran.
En 2017 comenzó la carrera de publicidad en la UCA y fue durante ese tiempo que se dio cuenta que no había otro camino mas que seguir su pasión por la fotografía.
Hoy en día es fotógrafa y filmmaker licenciada en comunicación y publicidad, radicada en Buenos Aires pero viajando por todo el mundo capturando las personas y lugares que más admira. Para Calu cada año es distinto, es crucial divertirse en cada proyecto y busca colaborar con grandes artistas en pos de sacar lo mejor de la persona que esta capturando.
